    Release ASUS RT-AXE7800 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_24396 (December 18th 2023)

Totally different experience here. This firmware has been a god send for me, hence why I posted. Appears to have have fixed all the issues I had (fingers crossed). Even though changelog doesn't mention anything wireless related. 6Ghz would only show up when it felt like it, not often. 2.4Ghz...

How to set a Random WAN Mac at each boot?

You must be in an area with a high utilisation issue. I get 200Mbps consistently no matter what time of the day.

How to set a Random WAN Mac at each boot?

Just remember that with Virgin Media the CMTS will only allow 4 changes in a 24 hour period.

    WPS: Is it still insecure?

It used to be fairly easy with Reaver tool on Linux but now WPS is more secure. New implementations on routers block the MAC for varying periods of time after 3 failed PIN attempts making it not worth the time or effort. Should be safe enough now but I don't ever use WPS and turn it off anyway.

access ISP-blocked sites via proxy/VPN at router level?

I take it you've either got BT or Virgin Media? Use Opera! I`m not being cheeky but I see no need for the long winded and complex method of accessing a simple torrent site where the tracker or peers are not affected.

access ISP-blocked sites via proxy/VPN at router level?

Why not choose the easy option? I`m with a UK ISP who blocks these sites. Use Opera browser and enable Opera Turbo Mode (it's own proxy) and all these sites are accessible! That's what I do.
