    LaCie 5big Network Reviewed

Thanks for the review, Tim. Does this nas is external brick powered like the "power connector" seems to say?

    Thecus N4100PRO

The N4100pro performance/price ratio sounds good. I imagine that the M3800 performance should be the same, they share the same CPU and ram quantity.

New 2 drive Synology coming soon DS-209+

How about a Thecus M3800 review?

I m not sure the performance will be the same. The only common thing between the n3200 and the m3800 is the case. Both motherboard and cpu (frequency and architecture, 400 Mhz freescale for the n3200 and AMD Geode LX800 for the m3800) are differents between this two modeles.

    D-Link DNS-343 vs Synology CS407 vs CS407e

Like Tim says, the synology product has a lot a features that don't have the dns-343 and synology often updates it. You can also consider the new ds-408 which will replace the cs-407. It has the same cpu than the ds-508 (so nearly the same performance) and more ram than the cs-407.

    Recommendation for Home NAS.

Twonkyvision also supports both devices, so every nas which supports it... Ex : Qnap Thecus (by community) etc.

    NAS filesystem details in Articles?

100% agree. The nas manufacturer should provide this as an available option for the end user.

    QNAP adds 5-bay SMB NAS

It's interesting to see that like Thecus, Qnap has chosen a x86 platform (Celeron 1.6GHz) instead of the Synology choice (Freescale 800MHz). [article link]

    Move Over DNS-323: D-Link DNS-321 Reviewed

I think USB ports are really important on a nas : - I m agree to say but if you have a simple usb printer to share in your home lan, do you have to switch on your pc all the time to share it ? - It can be very useful to add/expand storage to your nas connecting an usb drive to it. You can...
