    Will I be able to do 10GB Wan in and 10GB Lan out with either the AX89X or the GT-AXE16000?

    Another possibility is to separate your WiFI from your firewall & VPN. You would use something like a MikroTik CRS 305 behind your ATT Modem to handle Firewall and VPN, then pick any WiFi box you want in Access Point mode. MikroTik supports VPN like Wireguard, Zerotier, L2TP, OpenVPN and others...

    Will I be able to do 10GB Wan in and 10GB Lan out with either the AX89X or the GT-AXE16000?

    Short answer: YES. You can choose your WAN port - 1 G E, 10 G E or SFP+. It sounds like what you want is ATT 5G E --> Asus 10G E ---> Asus SFP+ ---> 10 E LAN Switch. It will work. I have played around with with a similar config on my AX89 (Fios 1 G E --> Asus 10G E ---> Asus SFP+ ---> 10 E LAN...

    How To Build A Cheap Petabyte Server: Take Three

    If you can put together a disk-less 45 drive system for under $2k using largely off the shelf components at near retail prices, it strikes me that we are getting fleeces by most of the small NAS companies.

    How To Build A Cheap Petabyte Server: Take Three

    SSD, power supply, CPU and storage card choices Things I'm curious about: - Why not use mirrored SSD's for the boot drive? - fast, cool, cheap and stable - Why not use a SAS/SATA card like this is 8 port: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816101358 One of these is cheaper...

    EST unRAID 15 Bay Server 45 tb : Research, Specifications, Build, Setup : 45 TeraByte

    I'm working on a server build myself - though not 45 TB!, only 27. I'm curious: - Why unRaid and not ZFS via Nexenta or FreeNas? - How is the power draw? (With an Atom 510, 9 3TB Green drives and 2 16GB SSD's and 1 LSI HBA, I am coming hoping to come in just under 200 at start and about...

    Supermicro X7SPA-HF build

    I'm using the same board, with 4GB RAM, and with FreeNAS ZFS and a LSI SAS3081E-R board. The OS in on mirrored Kingston 16 GB SSD - way more space than needed but they were dirt cheap on sale, and leave space in case I want to change OS's, and sip power. The SSD's for the OS add nothing to...

    Low Power PC Build for Streaming / NAS

    Atoms are terrible at transcoding, but good at everything else - I have a D510 in my NAS. If your NAS has to do double duty as a media transcoder, then an i3 or i5 or a comparable AMD would be a better choice. You might also want to look at a the newest Intel chips carry a slight price...

    New Build Case?

    Fan noise could be an issue with this case, though I have read that NXZt fans are fairly quiet. Depending on how many DVD drives you need, you might want to consider a smaller case. You can always convert some 5.25 slots to 3.5. Something like this...

    Very low power Linux Home Server

    I've been using a 16 GB Kingston SATA SSD. It's about $60 US. It's fater than a DOM. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820139428 There is also an 8GB version.
