modem - TP-LINK DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem
Router - AC68U
Firmware - Asuswrt Merlin 380.67
QoS is turned off
This combination had been working great for over a year. However in last couple of months, on one of the laptops (Windows 8.1) occasionally I get very slow download speeds (between 1-4 Mbps and upload speed is not affected. Download speeds range between 1-4 Mbps on various speed test sites. But none go higher than 4-5.
I googled and found bunch of similar posts and tried different things and none of those reliably work. The speed goes back to normal 25/5 by itself .. While this computer is not giving me good wifi speeds, rest of the computers seem to be giving 25/5.
How can I debug the problem? When I have slow speeds, what should I look at?
