Hi guys,

Having trouble configuring a TPLink TL-WR710N pocket router to connect to my PPTP VPN (know its not secure - just testing and getting started). Anyhow my work network is setup like this. I have a Spectrum Wave Router acting as a PPtp server and using a Dyndns account. The work ip range is 192.168.1.1-199 and PPtP clients hook in at 192.168.1.200. Furthermore my home network has the same 192.168.1.1-200 setup and on my home Windows machine I can manually configure Windows to connect to my VPN with out issue and by typing 192.168.1.1 I can see the work Router web interface or by typing 192.168.1.120 see another device thats on the network.

Ok this is the problem:
The TP Link router ip has its lan set at 192.168.0.1-254 and when I use the TPLink pocket router to connect to work I can't see the other 192.168.1.120 device. I can only see the 192.168.1.1 wave modem web gui. Do I have to forward ports or something? I mean I don't have port forwarding enabled and even though through a direct windows connection I can see that device but not on the TPLink.

What am I doing wrong?

Thank you all!

Take a closer look at the IP ranges - watch for overlaps there ;)

Looks like I had overlaping subnets as you cant have your home network and work network having same ip addresses. Works now. Thanks.
