My ISP assigns me a dynamic WAN so I am using the built-in DDNS (ASUS.com) so I can connect to OpenVPN. Without DDNS I had to reconfigure my OpenVPN client every time the WAN changed and it kept screwing me over. Only recently realized this was the problem.
I just want to confirm the functionality of the "forced update interval" setting. By default it is set to 21 days. I am assuming the router will still update the DDNS every time the WAN changes right? And then after 21 days if it didn't change, it will force another update? Just want to make sure I don't need to lower this setting to catch every time the WAN changes to avoid a potential 21 day black period (that'd be stupid but doesn't hurt to ask lol).
