Hi All,

Just received my new DIR-825 Rev.B1. I had it installed over the weekend as a AP. Followed the instructions to disable DHCP, UPnP, and give it a static IP. I have both 2.4/5Hz bands setup.

After a few hours of usage, I noticed that the router is dropping my laptop wireless connection. I've tried both 2.4 and 5hz bands and they both have the same problem. My laptop's wireless is not N.

Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this? Thanks.

What are you using for a wireless client? Try checking to see if there are newer drivers for it.

Thanks Tim. Have not check the client driver... will do tonight.

Would WPA cause this as well? I have WPA/WPA2 turned on.

It should not.

Could be a heat related problem in the NETGEAR. Are you putting a lot of traffic through it. Is it in a warm spot or stacked with other gear?

solution

Disable (uncheck) DNS relay. Its a known problem. I had that router but since replaced it with the Netgear WNDR3700. The 3700 is awesome.
