    Hi,
I need some help!! I've been trying for few days to determine why some of the files stored on my router HDD don't show on my Samsung TV. I recently formatted my WD 2TB HDD with ext3, I try with another HDD that is also format with ext3. After losing all my files "movies" :( I realized the HDD wasn't the problem. So I decided to downgrade the firmware from 354 beta to 270 with no success of fixing the DLNA problem. I also have changed the permission of the drive from 755, 777, ect., deleted miniDLNA data, changed Media Directory, well you name it.

Here is the log i recently got, as you can see there is not a lot of files to prevent DLNA of reading the files.

Your help in this matter is greatly appreciated

Did you get media files from another drive or downloaded with transmission directly to disk? My guess, the files are only partial downloaded and you should set "rename-partial-files": true in settings.json.
If minidlna scanner detects a new mkv file and is not 100% downloaded than you get this error.
    Give us more details.

Thank you for your reply.. I do download files directly to my HDD using transmission, it is also set as .part for incomplete files. I have different directories for my downloads, incomplete, complete and watch. A different folder for the finished files that I manually move ones are in the complete folder.. btw I watch "The last stand" movie directly from the router HDD not utilizing DLNA server, the movie played perfectly without any hiccups.

Are you using the built in minidlna or from entware / optware? because seems to be an issue with ffmpeg/libavformat.

I started to download more files with different format. The majority of the problem are mkv files. BTW I changed the firmware back to 354.28 and formatted the HDD to ext2 2 partitions one of 2gb for asus config files like entware

There should be some kind of fix for this problem and am sure am not the only one with this problems. I've google it and it seems to be a known issue, bug or problems with miniDLNA... the fix available that I have found are for computers running DLNA on Ubuntu and some other for linksys, netgear.

Any suggestions, help will be appreciated

What fix do you find, it's not that hard to apply the patch, just let me know.
This issue comes when you have a special character like !? on file name.
BTW, what is your exactly samsung tv model?

I couldn't find the website, I didn't save it because it wasn't related to Asus router. :( however i am currently downloading the same file from different sources or makers. maybe with this we can pinpoint why DLNA is not reading these particular files.

Here is an update of my miniDLNA, this is not including the files am downloading for this test.

BTW... 300 views on this post, only 1 person respond. TeHashX, I am thankful for your time and help!

Shouting at those who look , but can't help you with the problem due to lack of knowledge about this particular problem won't encourage them to help you if have other problems that they COULD help you with.

    Just saying...

Post here the "mount" output, "minidlna.conf" and "settings.json" from transmission.

All seams ok from outputs, the best file system is ext3 anyway.
Try to disable minidlna from router ui and install from entware
    Code:
    opkg install minidlna
    rm -r /mnt/Media/Movies/minidlna
    Edit minidlna.conf
    Code:
    nano opt/etc/minidlna.conf
    /opt/etc/init.d/S90minidlna start
See if works fine, previous I had minidlna entware version with some issues after router reboot (now I'm on debian version) but try this steps first.

You may leave as ext2 and try but ext3 is much better.

Ok, here is what i did.
I formatted the HDD back to ext3, installed entware, nano and transmission. after rebooting to ensure the scripts are auto running i went and downloaded minidlna, nano conf and run the minidlna. In the hdd i only placed 2 files, same movies, same format mkv with different creator or torrent uploader. The 2 movies are display on my TV.... BUT!...... I cant play them it say "not supported file format". I previously could and have play mkv files Here is few things that might help.

    minidlna.conf
    minidlna.log

I don't see any error in your log, maybe the movie has a codec that your tv can't handle, send me by pm a torrent file that is not working on your tv.
