Does anyone have experience with the Vantec HX4R or Ultra Aluminus drive enclosures?
I have one of each of these enclosures populated with Seagate 4TB NAS HDDs in them. I have tried both the USB 3.0 and the eSATA connections. With both of them running the HDDs as discrete drives (No RAID), I continue to have the drives drop out randomly. Now, with the drives populated, I get messages stating that the drives cannot be used/read without being formatted (which would wipe all the data).
Are there any suggestions on how to get these drives recognized by Windows 7 64-Bit Pro OS? I originally formatted the drives through windows and they work fine (when not dropped off the system).
Yes, I now understand that these enclosures are poor and that I got what I paid for. I'm just trying to salvage the situation.
Thanks in advance.
