I ran across this on Slashdot, where there's an FCC docket out there that pro-ports to prevent the use of custom firmware on a router on the 5GHz channel.

I think that this is completely ridiculous for the FCC to toss something out there this broad. Especially when the manufacturer FW seems to be so much of an issue as well as open right out of the gate.

I hope this gets dealt with appropriately and dies a quick death.
