Odd Disk LED behavior on DS215J

Curious about something that doesn't add up for me:

I have a DS215J but have only installed ONE HDD, and it is in BASIC configuration. Yet very often (almost always now, it seems) I see the front panel Disk 1 AND Disk 2 LED indicators lit and/or flashing. Since there is only one drive, why is the Disk 2 LED showing at all?

Do you have the latest firmware installed? Did you change anything relating to the disks from defaults?

It may be indicating a disk fault too. Do not ignore if this is the case.

Yes I do have latest firmware and no I do not think I changed any defaults. Light did not use to come on, this is recent. Did SMART test - drive is normal - almost brand new in any case.

Light is green, not orange and not flashing. Curious.
