Would it be possible to add packet per second(when sending minimum length IP packets) routing result when reviewing routers? I think this metric can seperate good routers from bad ones.

How so? Do you have an example?

I dont have an example. I saw this metric being mentioned in a few books. The reason it is a good metric is because one of the most important function of a router is to route packets and this tests the routing power of a router.

I did some calculation:
A minimum length ethernet frame has 84 bytes. 1Gbps=125000000 Bytes per second.

The router needs to route 1488095 packets per second to fill the bandwidth of a 1Gbps interface and multiple instances of the tests can be run on different interfaces. I wonder which router can route the most packets.
