New Around Here
I just had an issue whereby my AC68U simply "froze".

It stayed powered up but all connections to the router, wired and wireless, were lost, so no internet access from any PC, laptop, phone, etc. Wireless clients were disconnected from the wireless network and I couldn't access the router GUI from anywhere.

I powered the router off and on again and connectivity was restored. Looking at the system log, there are no events whatsoever giving any clue about what the problem was. In fact the most noticeable thing is the LACK of output to the system log in the couple of hours leading up to the issue. I normally see regular DHCP requests going back and forth all the time but these stopped completely for a while before the problem happened.

Anyone else ever experienced anything similar or know of any potential cause for this? At the time, I was transferring a backup file of around 120GB across the network, but I would hardly expect that to take the router down!

These are the last few entries in the system log before it "died" at about 16:01, and the first few lines of output after I restarted it:

What FW You use ?

Can't believe I left that out of the OP! I'm using 378.55.3_HGG_FINAL.

Did you do a reset to factory defaults and then manually and minimally configure the router to secure it and connect to your ISP?

Well in my case, I had flashed new firmware onto my device. So although I was certain I'd followed all the correct steps, I went back to the drawing board and re-flashed it, following an excellent procedure posted by someone else here:

I think I've had around a month of uptime now with no freezes. Before, it was happening a couple of times a week and happened 3 times in one day, which was the day I decided to finally do something about it!
