I realize this has nothing to do with the firmware, but:
When I change the IP address of the router, I can no longer get the Asus discover and setup utilities to find the router. Is there a way to change the IP range that the utilities look for?
Another issue Asus should fix. Whenever you click on help in the utilities, the utility does not look for, and use, the default browser. It just launches IE. In my case I really don't want that to happen because no updates have worked on my copy for more that a year. I don't know why - MS updates for IE just started to fail. But an application should not work that way.
