Occasional Visitor
Looking at my logs, I have a bunch of entries:

Feb 13 18:38:06 pptpd[1235]: CTRL: Client 183.60.48.25 control connection started
Feb 13 18:38:06 pptpd[1235]: CTRL: EOF or bad error reading ctrl packet length.
Feb 13 18:38:06 pptpd[1235]: CTRL: couldn't read packet header (exit)
Feb 13 18:38:06 pptpd[1235]: CTRL: CTRL read failed
Feb 13 18:38:06 pptpd[1235]: CTRL: Reaping child PPP[0]
Feb 13 18:38:06 pptpd[1235]: CTRL: Client 183.60.48.25 control connection finished
Feb 13 20:27:39 pptpd[463]: MGR: dropped small initial connection

IP Address shows based out of China. My logs go back to the 8th and they've been trying daily since then. I did have VPN Server enabled, but I've since disabled it. Is there anything else I should do to protect myself?
 
Any service accessible on the internet will be subjected to such "automic hacking attempts". The only thing you can to is make sure the passwords are long enough, avoid standard user names and keep your software updated to keep away any security flaws.
