see below:: RT-N66U_3.0.0.4_374.38_2-em and spindows was set to 0, things were working well, but the drive spun all the time. so i set spindown to 600. now the drive seems dead, on my pc it isn't seen either. no capacity or anything good seen. windows doesn't see it.

win 7 disc management does not see the disk,
any thoughts or ideas here ?? thanks

tried another disk, it mounts and unmounts seems fine.
think my other drive is borked for good ?? love to get a few things off of it.

** Update** just tried the drive in my computer again, showing up just fine, not put back in the router though.

should i use say 600 for spindown, or leave it at 0??

Many portable drives have their own power management embedded in the firmware (for instance, WD's Caviar Green), which cannot be controled by the firmware's sd-idle daemon. The only way to adjust these is to look on the manufacturer's website if they provide any tool to adjust it. I know WD does for their Caviar Green drives.
