My priorities are 1) VPN passthrough for when I use it with my laptop; 2) best firewall functionality; 3) WISP; 4) built-in battery because sometimes I will be using it with a tablet and prefer not to have a separate external battery for it.

Thank you.

D-Link DIR-506L does IPSEC/PPTP/L2TP passthrough, has WISP and can be operated with a battery. Only you can decide whether its firewall capabilities are sufficient for your needs. :)

Asus WL-330NUL - not battery powered - it's USB powered so any USB power supply would work - works ok as a WiFi as WAN client, and has VPN passthru... and it's the size of a USB thumbdrive...

(Also support Ethernet Client, WiFi client, and it's actually Mac OSX compatible without additional drivers)

It's an under appreciated ASUS device...

(see, folks, I'm not anti-ASUS - this is the second device I own and recommend in the last two days - this one plus the USB-56AC)

:):):)
