New Around Here
Hello - we just signed up for 50 Mbps service from Comcast, and although I'm getting that speed out of the modem, I'm only getting 26 or so out of the Sonicwall TZ 190. (even if I'm the only user)

I updated the firmware to 4.2.1.7-17e. We do not have any subscriptions running. Bandwidth management is off.

I spoke to a Sonicwall rep who said with no services or anything it should be able to handle ~90 Mbps throughput.

Any other ideas?

I don't recall if SonicOS 4.2 has this setting, but in 5x, in the security section there is a dropdown box for "Maximum Security" or "Maximum Performance". If that's there, give it a try. Outside of that, the Sonicwall rep is correct that the stated performance for SPI only is 90 Mbps. Best you could do is setup a PC on each side of the WAN and LAN interfaces then use something like http://nutsaboutnets.com/netstress/ and see how much you can push through the routed/firewalled interfaces.

Here's the 190 spec sheet: http://www.andovercg.com/datasheets/sonicwall-tz-190-firewall.pdf
