RT-AC86U; unable to update from 386.2_0 to _2 or _4 (SOLVED)

Hi there, trying to update from 386.2_0 shows immediately this error: "firmware upgrade unsuccessful. this may result from incorrect image or error transmission. please check the version of firmware and try again" Despite this error message the progress bar finished to 100 percent, but the...

    RT-86U slow DHCP resolution? *RESOLVED*

From the current point of view the delay is an issue of TeamViewer introduced by an update a few weeks ago. It should be up to the makers of TeamViewer to fix this (gave them already feedback). I use TeamViewer rather rarely, it works without the service, therefore no more problems to be solved...

    RT-86U slow DHCP resolution? *RESOLVED*

Turned off spanning tree protocol and re-enabled "TeamViewer_Service.exe". The delay occurred again. But it is possible to use TeamViewer without the service. Thus no problem.

    RT-86U slow DHCP resolution? *RESOLVED*

Found the solution in a Microsoft Forum. The Windows service "TeamViewer_Service.exe" caused the delay. Disabling it works. Thank you for help

    RT-86U slow DHCP resolution? *RESOLVED*

Sorry for my late answer, I was blocked during writing a reply. The PuTTY issue seems to be resolved. I set home.lan as the Domain Name. No period necessary after rebooting. After that I set the Domain Name to blank as before. Surprisingly the issue keeps resolved. The remaining problem is a...

    RT-86U slow DHCP resolution? *RESOLVED*

I noticed nothing special before the slowness happened. After discovering the problem on my Windows Laptop I restored a backup image from 2018. Since the slowness persists I suspected the router. As confirmation a occasionally used Windows PC connected to the router by cable showed same...

    RT-86U slow DHCP resolution? *RESOLVED*

RT-AC86U, from stock firmware to Merlin (now 384.10_2). After 2 months I encountered the same or similar problem: waiting a noticeably time for connecting to the network. Finally I flashed the latest stock firmware and restored to factory default without success. An additional observation: to...

First 380 (beta) firmware for RT-AC66U from ASUS available

Merlins 380 firmware for the RT-AC66U does not support channel 13 in the 2,4 GHz band (legal in Europe). Is it possible to merge the new 380 release with the existing Merlin 380 branch ?

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.57 is now available

RT-AC66U, same issue here. I am in the EU.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.56 is available

I generally agree, but this is not the whole truth. I bought an ac capable router (RT-AC66U) to escape the crowded 2,4 GHz band (13 channels in europe). But what surprise: the 5 GHz band is restricted to 4 channels, because ASUS/Broadcom were not able until now to implement DFS to open legally...
