I have to agree. It's rock solid for me too. It's up and running without any hiccup since the update.

Release ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22525

This version is working so far so good with my twin-pack plus one. I got a twin-pack set and I added one more node. Before all devices only connected the twin-pack, not the additional node. Now all devices are distributed to all 3 nodes depending on where the devices are relative to the nodes.

The Asus ZenWiFi AX XT8 is a POS, right?

I got 22068 f/w oil the main and 21617 f/w on the node. It's rock solid without any issue all my devices connecting to it.

Release ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22068

I have 2 XT8's. I have been running without any issue until using the 22068 F/W for both the main and the node. I downgraded the node back to 21617, and keep the main mesh at 22068. Everything is rock solid and have no issue. Also I hide the 5GHz-2 SSID so it's only used as the backhaul.

You might see AC68U on ebay from people who bought it at Best Buy for 119.

    RT-AC68R on sale

I agree. It's fast if you have equipment to match it, and the signals are strong. You have to make sure you have the latest F/W or use Merlin F/W. I bought one at BB at $209 a month ago, and this is a great deal.

    Last advice before purchase 68U

We have 2 macbook connecting to RT-AC68U. There is no issue what so ever. You can also use it as Time Machine when connecting external drive the router.
