    I just spotted one flaw in this plan. Merlin is not supported on RT-AX82U (my server router) but at least I can still do the first stage and migrate the RT-AX3000 client router (which is listed as supporting Merlin). And if that solves the problem stage 2 becomes unnecessary.

    OK - I'll try to grab that. In the meantime I tried disabling the firewall on the client router and had somebody try accessing devices via the tunnel again and still no change. That seems to suggest it isn't the firewall blocking.
