I've been using PfSense for nearly 2 years now after spending way too much time and money screwing around with temperamental consumer grade routers. Tonight i rebooted my PfSense router for the first time in 6 months due to an update. It's just that reliable. I run mine on a Lenovo ThinkCentre...
They've got an even higher end model, the BE900. Makes me wonder how many people are willing to spend $699 on a router. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BRD3P4XV/?tag=snbforums-20
Yeah, i just found out the hard way regarding hardware whitelisting on Lenovo ThinkCentre Tiny clients. Such a pain in the butt. I ended up using a programmer to dump the bios and mod it to accept the card.
My problem with TP-Link is they hardly ever update firmware to fix bugs. I've had a common problem with my Archer C9 v5 for literally 3+ years and nobody responds to threads in their forums and they don't respond to emails. They released my router, gave like one or two updates, then came out...
Why exactly do you recommend those? Also, i'm wanting to buy a new or if i have to, a refurbished router.
The Netgear R7800 costs $217 so it's not gonna happen. I just need a decent router with decent performance since i can't even login to my WD MyNet N900 because its security cert is causing...
So i'm in desperate need of a new router. The one that is currently sitting on my desk is a Western Digital MyNet N900 ...... HEY! Stop laughing!... back to what i was saying. It's old, hasn't had a firmware update in half a decade, and it simply needs to go.
I've got a PC and a Mac that are...

One requirement is that it needs to be an 802.11AC wireless router...
DOH!!!! This is NOT made by Logitech. It's a Japanese company named Logitec.
Perhaps I should refrain from starting threads after a long day of drinking and football...
Correct me if i'm wrong, but i could have sworn Western Digital designed their router themselves. From what i've seen of it in various reviews, it's not some re-brand like we commonly see in the industry.
I'll reserve judgement on the Logitech routers until after they're reviewed here...
No need to clean your glasses or bust out the LCD Screen wipes... you are not having a flashback, stroke, or a dream. And I thought the idea of Western Digital getting into the networking arena was bizarre. It seems now the maker of all things mouse, keyboard, and bada$$ home theater remote...
I'd like to know as well. They have now released two firmwares. 1.03.11 and 1.04.08.
Firmware Version 1.04.08
