    Asus RT-AC5300 as access point

As I am preparing to move to a new apartment and planning on building my new network I decided to play with Mikrotik RB5009. The idea was to tinker with it as a main router for a while using my RT-AC5300 as an access point. Can I really do it? If yes, what should I do?

ASUS equipment to cover the apartment

Guys, I need your advice. For my new apartment I need 3 access points to wirelessly cover it for my mobile devices. I made my best to provide Ethernet connections to fixed end devices like TVs, gaming consoles and PCs but still need a good connection for laptops and smartphones. I plan to buy...

Lose local clients after some time

On my AC5300 running 386.3_2 I lose ability to access local devices via their IP addresses. When I reboot the router I can see them again but after some time they become unavalable, even the router itself can't be accessed, so I have to reboot it manually. Am I alone to have this issue?

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 is now available

AC5300, dirty update. Blocks out some devices on wi-fi after several hours. Have to revert back to 384, I'm afraid.

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.10 is now available

If you use Safari on Mac, try different browser.

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.9 is now available

I had similar problem in the past while updating from Safari on my Mac. For some reason (as far as I know, Merlin doesn't test the FW using this browser) Safari has sporadic problems in different parts of FW, for example, there are troubles with logging in, so I have to use alternative links to...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.66 is now available

I also have problems with NAT loopback with 66.4 and 66.6 releases. When I switch to cellular, all starts working. Changing settings to either Asus or Merlin doesn't help.

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.66 is now available

Problems with Safari persist in this release. Very unstable behaviour webUI-wise. I believe Asus just doesn't test its products with this platform.

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.65 is now available

I'm in no way huffy, just let Merlin know there's something to the FW that can troublesome.

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.65 is now available

Yes, it worked! Thank you! However, Traffic Monitor is still broken in Safari :( It's a pity Merlin doesn't have Mac to test its firmware :(

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.65 is now available

Another release with even worse issues connecting to webui from iOS and macOS devices. In previous releases I had issues with Safari but Chrome worked OK. Now I cannot even connect with all these browsers. The only way I found is to use Edge in my Windows VM in Parallels. What could I break?

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.64_2 is now available

I've tried both ways. HTTPS, HTTP is blocked. As for Safari cache, I've even reinstalled the whole OS, nothing changed. And the problem exists on both of my Macs and an iPad. The only thing I haven't tried is resetting the router. Anyway it works well in Chrome though.

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.64_2 is now available

I believe there's something wrong with UI in the last couple releases. It is broken on my several macOS and iOS devices rinning Safari. Desktop Chrome works OK but desktop Safari and mobile Safari and Chrome on iPad display glitches all over the place, pages constantly reloaded after crashes and...

    Selective Routing

I'm a real newbie. So please don't feel offended if I ask rather unspecific questions :) First, I use NAS for different purposes so I don't want it to be isolated from other network devices I have. I can understand the nature of port forwarding but only when talking about incoming packets. And...

    Selective Routing

Not really. I don't want to have transmission on my router, I use NAS for torrenting instead.
