I am having this EXACT same issue but on the RT-AX56U, I can't for the life of me figure out why nothing will go out the wireguard connection. I have tried this in both way mentioned here...
For Wireguard you need to put in rules in vpndirector for which Local IP (lan ip) that should use the...
I have a old RT-AC56U that is no longer supported, if I want to run it in AP Mode behind another router is it a security risk on the wifi side because of no updates?
I am wondering if anyone can recommend the best reasonably priced ASUS Merlin compatible router that will be supported for years to come. I bought one a few years ago and it is already no longer supported, so I am looking for something that in a few years will not be the same situation.
Thanks.
You could have a bash script that say pings the NUC every so many minutes and if it gets a responds do nothing, but if it does not get a responds, then sent the WOL command.
Thank you for confirming it is not LESS secure, that is the part I was really not understanding, because I could not wrap my brain around anyway it could be less secure.
I had a friend of one of my family members contact me because he was moving into my area and wanted my help getting his network setup, he needed a router so I recommend a Asus that we could put the Asus Merlin firmware on, he picked the RT-AX68U. However when he got here and I went to set it up...

Well if I take out "route 192.168.25.100 255.255.255.255 vpn_gateway" it does not connect on All or Policy Rules, but with it in I can get to it on All but not Policy Rules.
Sorry I was not clear the issue is I can't get to the routed device ie 192.168.25.100 when it is set to Policy Rules but I can get to it if, it is set to All, and I want to use Policy Rules, but I can't figure out why the "route 192.168.25.100 255.255.255.255 vpn_gateway" does not work when it...
