Lost access to modem UI from the browser

Router is RT-AC88U, Firmware Version: 3.0.0.4.386_43129 Modem is Arris SBV 3202, connected to Comcast/Xfinity I used to be able to access the modem UI (192.168.100.1) without problem. Today I tried and I cannot get it. The tab on the browser shows "Touchstone Status" but that's it. Makes me...

Release ASUS RT-AC88U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.43129

I am currently running the beta version Version 9.0.0.4.386.41994 downloaded from the Asus site. My router reports that as the latest version so I cannot update it via the router GUI. I assume I must run the update manually. Will this be easy or is there any trick I need to know? Once updated...

    AC88U beta Version 9.0.0.4.386.41994

No issues here either. The update from 41700 was fast and required no extra effort.

(BUG) Gest Network 2 able to access Intranet even when access is disabled

File and printer sharing is a different setting from Network discovery. Was Network discovery on or off? I guess I need to see what dnsmasq is about.

(BUG) Gest Network 2 able to access Intranet even when access is disabled

@bbunge, why should I be using beta firmware 9.0.0.4.386.41994? Setting Control panel->Network and Sharing Center->Advance sharing settings->Turn on network discovery allowed the laptop on the guest network to see the existence of the other PC on the LAN but not able to see any shared folders...

(BUG) Gest Network 2 able to access Intranet even when access is disabled

I just did a little experiment on my RT-AC88U running firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.41700. All devices on my ethernet or wifi connected home network have IP addresses 192.168.1.xxx. Using a laptop I connected to the guest network index 1 and the IP is 192.168.101.xxx. If I connect it to the...

    Asus AC68U Access Issue

Not an uncommon experience if you've failed to do a reset of the router after the firmware upgrade. Once you do the required reset it should be fine. https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1039074/

Why is the RT-AC86U considered a better device than the RT-AC88u?

I've been using the AC88U for over three years and it does well for me in a 2500 sf two-story home. But the main reason I got it was that it had 8 LAN ports so I didn't need an extra switch, and it was a good price on sale.

I use Manually Assigned IPs for anything I access from a bookmark in my browser... e.g., printer, NAS, cell phone.

    Release RT-AC88U Version 3.0.0.4.386.41700

I just updated from _41535 to _41700. The process went fast and all looks good. Both 2.4GHz and 5GHz speeds are as expected.

    Release RT-AC88U Version 3.0.0.4.386.41700

@gregory, I'm confused about your last reply. You said updating to 3.0.0.4.386.41700 fixed the issue. Am I correct that you a) first saw the problem on 3.0.0.4.386.41700, b) rolled back to a prior version and the problem was still there, and c) reinstalled 3.0.0.4.386.41700 and the problem went...

    Release RT-AC88U Version 3.0.0.4.386.41700

What specific degradation in the 5GHz band is seen? Does a router reboot help? Are others either experiencing this, or confirm their 5GHz is OK. With this issue hanging out there I'm hesitant to upgrade.

Confusion about IP assignments on RT-AC88U with Dish Hopper/Joey Wifi

I have a Dish Hopper with Sling and Joey setup using Wifi. The Hopper is the main set top box and the Joey is the smaller box on the second TV. I have found three different MAC addresses associated with this setup. For brevity, I will refer to them only by the last byte... :7C, :7A and :60. My...
