Replacing a Sky Hub and ASUS RT-AC68U - advice on best options needed

Scrap that, I needed to move on with this and further research suggests the all-in-one might not be the best solution. I have ordered an RT-AC86U plus a HG612 VDSL modem. Not sure if anyone is interested, but thought I would share in case anyone Googles and finds the thread.

Replacing a Sky Hub and ASUS RT-AC68U - advice on best options needed

I've now started looking at the ASUS DSL-AC88U AC3100 as an all-in-one solution. Can anyone offer an opinion on that?

Replacing a Sky Hub and ASUS RT-AC68U - advice on best options needed

I currently run a Sky FTTC network using the Sky Hub as a modem with the AC68U as router. The ASUS runs Merlin, and I have had this setup for a few years without any problems. I'm aware that this setup isn't recommended because the Sky Hub doesn't have a modem only or bridge mode, but I have DNS...

Bypassing Merlin router-based VPN for specific software

Bypassing Merlin router-based VPN for specific software

I have an ASUS RT-AC68U running Merlin, and PIA VPN. I want to run the traffic for my LG WebOS TV through the VPN and there is no way to install a VPN client on the TV locally (which would be the easiest way to switch the tunnel on/off) so my only viable solution is to run it through the router...

BBC website domain blocked when not through VPN

Apologies for the delay - been much busier than anticipated. I thought I'd report back as it looks like I have been making this far more complicated than necessary. I've resolved this issue by foregoing the script and using the option in the GUI that I hadn't previously noted/understood fully...

BBC website domain blocked when not through VPN

Thanks. I found last night that there were other sites being blocked, and not just on traffic routed through the ISP. All a bit random though. So, the BBC was being blocked through the ISP when wired or wireless, but all traffic through both VPN and local ISP was blocking an online game I play...

BBC website domain blocked when not through VPN

Hi I have an ASUS RT-AC68U on which I recently setup policy based routing using Merlin's instructions in this guide: https://github.com/RMerl/asuswrt-merlin/wiki/Policy-based-routing-(manual-method) Everything has tested as working fine, but I have noticed that traffic routed through my local...
