    Need help recovering Asus Rt86u firmware

    I hope its not the case, and I really don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but wifi lights turning off are a sign of this router dying. The ac86u is well known for it's high failure rates, and it usually starts with the wifi lights.

    Installing using the phone app or the gui directly was giving me "couldn't connect to Asus servers" all day. Manually downloading the firmware and updating worked.

    two days report after a clean install of what i use. traffic anaylzer is working well wifi is working well instant guard is working well Mesh setup is working gui is responsive No abnormal CPU/ram spikes So far so good.

    I don't think anyone here can give you an accurate answer. They could release it today, a week from now or even more. I hope they take their time and release a firmware with as little issues as they can.

    I've had this problem and even after a full factory reset traffic analyzer worked for a short period and stooped working again. I'm currently waiting for an the update @Tceh9 mentioned cause I'm certain software bug.

    just to confirm a factory reset did solve the issue. it's working fine now and I noticed a huge improvement in network map performance as well. the last factory reset i did was the first time I installed the first 388 firmware.
