[RT-AX86U Pro] Internet speed on clients

Yes, I get full speed on my computer.

[RT-AX86U Pro] Internet speed on clients

Brilliant, thank you! I'll give it a go once it's been released.

[RT-AX86U Pro] Internet speed on clients

Indeed, I did run WireGuard server on the router! I've disabled it and I'm getting full speeds now, thank you! Is this WireGuard's or Asus firmware bug/limitation?

[RT-AX86U Pro] Internet speed on clients

Hi all, I have a 1000/500 Internet connection. I've recently upgraded from an RT-AC68U to an RT-AX86U Pro, firmware v388.1. I have noticed that measuring Internet speed from a wired machine measures only ~500/500. I've tested this from a desktop that's connected via a switch, as well as a...

Migrate settings from AC68U to AX86U?

Thank you for your reply... Yeah, QoS really doesn't matter for a 1000/500 link, so I don't care about that :-) However, I did have to turn off Traffic Analyzer statistics - if I leave it on, down speed on SpeedTest is ~650 and both CPU cores are slammed at 100%. With Statistics off, I hit...

Migrate settings from AC68U to AX86U?

Hi all, I'm looking to upgrade my AC68U. I am generally happy with it, but it seems the dual core CPU is a bottleneck on a 1Gbps fiber link unless I turn off all QoS and statistics/traffic monitoring. I was considering AX88U or AX86U and I'm leaning towards AX86U as it's a newer model. My...

    RT-AC68U in DMZ, port forwarding

Oh, silly me. It looks like something (ISP or ISP's router?) is blocking requests to my external IP when the requests are coming from my LAN. When I telnet from my phone while connected to a mobile network, everything works as expected, with UPNP and VPN clients turned on... Colin, sorry for...

    RT-AC68U in DMZ, port forwarding

Disabled both VPN clients, made sure to put the RT back into DMZ, checked iptables output, DNSVPN1 and DNSVPN2 chains are gone. No joy. I also tried disabling UPNP on the WAN page, same. I've removed 25565 port for now, to keep things simple.

    RT-AC68U in DMZ, port forwarding

That table shows my port forward. This is the output of iptables -t nat -L -n -v on the RT: Chain PREROUTING (policy ACCEPT 550 packets, 59579 bytes) pkts bytes target prot opt in out source destination 0 0 ACCEPT tcp -- * * 0.0.0.0/0...

    RT-AC68U in DMZ, port forwarding

I've just checked with my provider, they say they're not blocking anything. I'm testing with Syncthing Web UI port (8384), and default Minecraft server port (25565). Where else should I look?

    RT-AC68U in DMZ, port forwarding

Hi, I run RT-AC68U with Merlin 384.13 behind my ISP's router. Unfortunately, ISP's router does not have a bridge mode, so I put my RT in DMZ. RT is assigned a stable IP via ISP router's DHCP, uses Automatic IP WAN connection to connect to ISP's router and RT's "public" IP is correct. Everything...

RT-AC68U, samba, speed & CPU usage

Ok, I've tried NTFS as well, same results (~25MB/s) I've also plugged the drive+enclosure directly into the Win10 box, got around 100MB/s. I'm guessing 25MB/s is AC68's maximum, considering both cores get to 100%...

RT-AC68U, samba, speed & CPU usage

Hi, Of course I forgot something :-) I tested with a large file (~2GB) from a machine with a wired connection. I will try FAT32 and NTFS next. How stable/safe is NTFS on Asus? Thank you.

RT-AC68U, samba, speed & CPU usage

Hi all, Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere, but I'm having samba problems with a USB3 drive. I'm using Merlin 380.59 on RT-AC68U. I have a 750 GB 2.5" drive plugged in using a USB3 enclosure (with a separate power supply) and shared using samba. The drive is formatted to EXT4...
