Hello! It's been a while....
RBR50 & RBS50, both running voxel V9.2.5.2.33SF-HW; backhaul is ethernet.
I made some changes to my network tonight; changed the main SSID and guest SSID; the main router took the changes with no issues; but it's been over an hour and the satellite has not sync'd...
I was thinking about this very issue while I could not sleep; I have my DNS server on the LAN, so this is not an issue; my router causes minor traffic, so that also is not a concern.
However, there are certain devices that loop through the router; for example, my modem, router and plex server...
@Voxel thanks for your reply; I'll certainly see if the Entware team can help - and THANK YOU for all your efforts, you are appreciated by many!
@kamoj under normal circumstances how often do the counters start? I've not played around with your BW counter much, but I could certainly see myself...
The current versions (since 2.0) use sqlite, but the version in entware right now uses C Struct.
There have been 5 fixed/updates since 1.18, and there are other known bugs with these versions, so I am hoping that @Voxel will give some thought into including vnstat2 package.
I am also...
Hi everyone,
This is in relation to vnstat which is part of entware.
R9000 running Voxel V1.0.4.47HF and Kamoj V5.4b18
Due in part to my ISP starting monthly caps, and my own curiosity, I installed vnstat Jan 1 2021; It works(ed) very well, and within a small amount of gigs, matched what my...
I have comcast; While booting the modem gives the R9000 an IP of 192.168.100.2, and once everything is sync'd, the router gets the 'real' IP. So, as of right now, my R9000's brwan is a real IP address.
brwan Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr A0:04:60:**:**:**
inet addr:24.**.***.**...
May I interject and ask what two (?) commands you used; This seems remarkably similar to an "annoyance" I have.
MODEM (192.168.100.1) --> R9000 --> LAN (192.168.14.0)
LAN can ping 192.168.100.1 but cannot get to web interface.
Thanks & sorry if this interjection is against forum rules.
Hello!
I am absolutely using Voxel's firmware; It was remiss of me to not state it!
I was not aware of the /opt/scripts/firewall-start.sh script - that was most helpful. Thank you!
This is the code I've written; It provides a modicum of logic before the command.
linedel=$(iptables -L loc2fw...
Hello,
I have installed mini_snmpd today, and could only get it to work on the router itself, and not from a local machine on the LAN side; Turns out that in the loc2fw chain, snmp is blocked:
iptables -L loc2fw --line-numbers
..
..
3 DROP udp -- anywhere anywhere...
Voxel, I always appreciate when you respond - thank you.
I did exactly as you said - the other issue I mentioned is that the router is not mounting on reboot - and this is still the same.
root@R9000:~$ ls -lash /dev/sd*

Good day,
I have followed instructions, but must be misunderstanding something; I have tried 2 different ways:
Method One:
USB Drive, formatted ext4, labelled 'optware", extracted entware-cortex-a15-3x-initial-generic to flash drive.
ls -lash optware/
total 28K

I have my R9000 in the middle of the house; Middle floor, and middle of the house front-to-back and left-to-right. It's ideal.
But it's also an area of the house that people walk through at night for the restroom, etc, and the flashing lights are really bright LOL. I like the lights during...
In fact, you can turn them all off except power in the web interface; This would be acceptable to me; I do not mind the power staying on. Unfortunately at this time, I cannot find what code/script is used when that web switch is used. (Advanced Menu, Advanced Setup, LED Control Settings).
If...
That works perfectly - thank you kamoj!!!!
Is there an easy way to put them back to standard - I swapped the 'off' for 'on' and some came on, but it wasn't "normal"
