    eero Lays Off Staff

Given, for me, as someone with more than 90 devices, Eero is the only solution that is stable, I sure hope it was just related to their smart home integration project. They had about 200 employees and this reduces them to about 150.

    eero Pro Gen 2 thoughts

I had an Orbi RBR50 with two RBS50 satellites from March until about 2 weeks ago. The Orbi was fantastic until July of this year when Netgear totally lost control of the firmware. The Orbi basically became unusable. 6-8 times an hour a subset or all of my 90+ clients would disconnect and the...

    Fing Fingbox Reviewed

Having used merlin's firmware on an 66, 68, 87, 88, a Orbi RBK 50, and now my Eero, I can say that almost none of the functions are in a common place, even in budget routers or higher end routers. The lack of good apps for those devices compounds the issue, and push notifications lacking in all...

It's just a great place for consolidated information. I have over 90 devices and like being able to set notifications on status changes.

    Orbi RBK50 ethernet backhaul ?

I would check in on community.netgear.com before buying the Orbi. I had mine since March 2017 and was a complete disaster for all but 3 of those months.

    New house Netgear ac3000 ORBI vs R7800 x4s + EX8000 extender

I went with the Orbi 3 pack... it was perfect from March to July, then with the release of the 1.10.x became the most disgusting nightmare of disconnects and crashes you can imagine like so many others in the Orbi community forums. Sold mine on Craigslist, went to Eero and haven't had a single...

Voxel Voxel's firmware for Orbi RBK50 system

I sold my RBK50 because of instability and fooling with it for 9 months. Switched to eero in Dec 2017 and have never had an issue since.

    Netgear Orbi Firmware 1.12.0.18 issues

Yes, on most people's 8/8+. Take a look at Netgear's forums... massive problems, but not just limited to the S8, although I will admit that is where I see the problem the most.

Use the stock firmware, you're not wanted or welcome here.

RT-AC87U with 380.65. One core stuck at 100%

It happens on various Merlin and stock versions for years. Happens on the AC88u as well.

    Asuswrt-Merlin RT-N16 Wifi randomly drops.

    It was released in 2009.

Asus Introduces HiveSpot and HiveDot Mesh Networking Products

Is there anything different from a repeater other than having separate 5ghz backhaul radios?

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.63_2 is now available

Sounds like you'd be best served by sticking to stock firmware.

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.61 is now available

For the strangest reason, my 88u running this version only shows the 2.4 band to support b,g not n. No speeds of any client rise above 72mbps except for by rp68u. This band advertisement of b,g still appears when I have "N only" set, or the smart connect rules enabled. I have no b,g clients.
