    ASUS RT-N66U Firmware Version 3.0.0.4.374.979

Still no VLAN option for wireless guest networks (never got an answer on my official feature request from ASUS). :(

    Feature Request: VLAN

Dear RMerlin, first of all thanks for your great work! If I may I'd like to propose an additional feature for your firmware. It would be great to have VLAN support! I use the RT-N66U as an AP and would like to separate a guest WLAN access on a separate VLAN. Is it possible for you to provide...

new firmware on asus site 374.257

+1 On my iMac 24 (2007) I also keep getting 108 Mbps instead of 270 with the .276 firmware (Mac OS X 10.8.4). From system info: Broadcom BCM43xx 1.0 (5.10.131.36.16)

New RT-N66U Firmware release from Asus

I was referring to the connection speed. And no, until now I did not try different channels because I did not feel the need to as there are no other clients around at the 5 GHz band according to my Wi-Fi scanner. Plus there is no problem with the same settings using the .271 firmware.

New RT-N66U Firmware release from Asus

There are problems connecting these devices to the AP at 5 GHz. If that happens I have to disable and reenable the Wi-Fi adapter in order to get a connection. Above that I noticed massive bandwith drops using the 5 GHz band (on my iMac the lowest bandwith is 14 mbit/sec. compared to 108...

Security issue with ASUS routers - AiCloud vulnerability

According to a posting on the bugtraq ML there is a security issue with some ASUS routers using AiCloud. Ten models seem to be affected and the advice is to turn AiCloud down and to deactivate UPnP as well as remote control until the vendor comes up with a fixed firmware version. The well-known...

New RT-N66U Firmware release from Asus

+1. I ran into all sorts of problems (disconnects, non-connects, massive speed drops, you name it) with the .3xx branch, especially but not only in the 5 GHz band. Now that I downgraded to the updated .2xx branch firmware the troubles are gone.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.354.29 Beta 1

Well, at least this firmware has a kernel build from 24th of July, so it's a new version, but the broadcom driver seems to have been downgraded (5.100.138.20) compared to 3.0.0.4.370 (5.110.27.20012)

Tomato by Shibby [RELEASE] 110 out now

Well, I wrote "... but this is just for Windows and I don't have that in my office." I thought that would be clear. Sorry.

Tomato by Shibby [RELEASE] 110 out now

Thanks for that hint, I will try it.

Tomato by Shibby [RELEASE] 110 out now

What I meant to say was I have NO WINDOWS but OS X and Linux computers. So the ASUS tool won't help me much.

Tomato by Shibby [RELEASE] 110 out now

How did you get Tomato installed? I tried it via the web interface and got an error message (something with wrong firmware or file version). I know I am supposed to install Tomato via the firmware recovery tool provided by ASUS, but this is just for Windows and I don't have that in my office.
