    Go back to 384.19. If it is stable (and it should be), there's an undiagnosed problem with the 386.x codebase. Also try the most current stock firmware instead of Merlin - from experience, Merlin 384.19 and stock Asus are stable when directly connected to the Fios ONT. This has been an open...

    Just go with 384 and revisit around the Fall. If you go with stock, do a full reset and hand-reconfigure. I'm sure that will be stable as well. For me, going back to stock saves on the reconfiguration, but it ended up not being stable.

    If @drinkingbird doesn't mind being a pioneer, can you try reflashing to Asus stock without resetting and see if it is stable? If not, try nuking the reflashed Stock Asus firmware and reconfigure by hand and see if it is stable? I have a data point of 1 for the first part, reflashing 386.1_2...

    From the system logs, it looks like Fios address leases are for 7200 seconds (2 Hrs) at a time, and in theory, DHCP is supposed to request a renewal when 50% of the lease period has expired. I never see any DHCP Client request after the initial one though.

    Try flashing back to 384.19 and do a hard reset and re-enter settings by hand. I encountered a similar problem with an AC86U last week and it was resolved by doing this. You can also solve this by double-NATing to your ONT. There is something with 386.1_x and the WAN port's interaction with...

    Just another symptom - Once I reflash from 386.1_2 back to the latest stock this intermittency will still happen, it seems to be fixed after a hard reset. For sanity sake, I'll reflash back to 384.19 and do another hard reset - that seems to be stable right now.

    Microsoft Teams / Zoom / Google Meet - periodic sound loss during the call/meeting - AX86u with Merlin 386.1

    When in doubt, roll back to Asus Stock or the last stable version, which is 384.19 and see if the problems exist. Just came across an issue with 386.1_x and a direct connection to a Fios ONT which was fine under stock and 384.19.

    Wha? The ONT has a separate RJ45 jack for GbE and RJ11 jack for voice. You will need all 4 pairs to go beyond 100Mbps, so I would definitely have that redone so that voice and data are on separate physical cables.

    I actually use 1.1.1.3 for the WAN DNS since it is being deployed in a distance-learning environment with children and the fake-disconnect happens often. I did a full reset and hand-entered my configurations for the initial flash to Merlin and back to Stock. Going to leave it alone for now...
