    TP-Link Omada router buying advice?

Hi, I guess the reason I’m not looking at those other router software is to keep everything in a single App to make updates changes less of a chore. And looking for a full TP-Link setup because I did a Access Point test comparing the Ubiquiti NanoHD to the EAP245 Power cycle to have them back...

    TP-Link Omada router buying advice?

Hi, Thinking on going full with a TP-Link Omada setup. Should I get the ER7206 or ER605? I would also get the OC200 controller, for switch thinking on the SG2008P with the EAP245 V3 access points. In total I would need two switches and two Access points. The second location of course would...

Coxhaus, If I remember correct I did the test with the TP Link AP on 5Ghz. Now that I think about it if it was 5Ghz then is pretty amazing as that usually weak through walls. The Unifi not sure as it was set to the same name for 2 and 5 GHz. I would test more this weekend and report here.

    Unifi AP questions

Thanks, Df I would try to do the RF scan this weekend. Yesterday I also received the TP Link EAP 245 V3. And out of the box it have great range it seem on part with the AC86U. So far it seem that the brick wall is the nanoHD range killer. Cause I don’t have Ethernet runs outside just only 1...

    Unifi AP questions

Thanks, No contest the Unifi AP feel solid as rock. I think the easy thing to do is run the RF scanner and select the channel with less clients? Or that not a good staring point?

    Unifi AP questions

Thanks, That is so true the number of manual configuration is overwhelming and to top that every change take a while while the AP reconfigures the new setting. I just changed the Power from Auto to High. And channel width to VHT80 5Ghz. Headed outside the front porch and got 20Mbps with the...

    Unifi AP questions

My house is rectangular I have the ISP router at one end and then have a long Ethernet at the other end. I could have two AP. A third one I don’t have any more Ethernet port anywhere else would be hard. For that I would need Orbi or AiMesh. It was my assumption that being a single unit just...

    Unifi AP questions

Thanks, So it seem that it work much better having a controller online. The only thing I have semi On 24/7 is the nvidia Shield. But I imagine that won’t work. Is already being used as the Plex media Server. I feel frustrated with the nanoHD range. So far definitely a downgrade from the ASUS...

    Unifi AP questions

    x86/x64 router build advice

Not sure if I could tap here or start a new post. But now I’m thinking of something like this. Is there a downside to have 1 box do everything or is better to split the services Like VPN,Smart QoS, Ad blocker, Firewall, Suricata, Squid, Squidguard, Router. From one of those small black boxes...

Is the SQM QoS real or marketing?

do they have some type of cap when using the SQM QoS. Considering the Zyxel Armor Z2 and maybe the Ubiquiti Edgerouter 12. Do they both have what you call decent firewall with the basic setup to complicated to get it going.

Is the SQM QoS real or marketing?

Thanks all, Just to make sure so the SQM QoS is not exactly router specific more of a firmware/software thing? To get OpenWRT with CAKE on the WiFi router and call it good? So it would be like this: 1- OpenWRT CAKE 2- Merlin on ASUS router 3- Ubiquiti I just found this other router claiming...
