    Asuswrt-Merlin 374.42_2 is out

Coming from 3.0.0.4.372.31 Hi Folks, I have the above build and am looking to upgrade to the latest. Are there any known gotchas or problems? Mainly I want to ensure my openvpn config stays intact as I rely on it daily. Thank You.

    NT-66U Spanning Tree Question

got it, from my understanding you want the router to be set as a root bridge (or a value of zero for the priority), and in increments of 4096 thereafter. Thanks Merlin

    NT-66U Spanning Tree Question

Thanks Merlin. Do you know which field would be an equivalent Cisco priority value? I have 3 other switches downstream and I will need to adjust them to a larger value one by one off of the asus.

    NT-66U Spanning Tree Question

Does anyone know what priority # enabling this on the switch does? I have a bunch of UBNT stuff and I'm trying to enable STP but need to understand if ASUS sets the priority to 0 or something higher.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.372.31 is out

I think the issue people are running into is when the key is created, it has a bunch of cert stuff above the beginning and end statements, you don't need that...removing this fixed my http hang and openvpn works 100% fine Tap & Tun on an nt66u using Merlin's latest.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.372.31 is out

ok Merlin, I wiped the nvram, installed .372.31 and played around and finally I got the openvpn settings to stick. It didn't like my server cert or ca auth, but after copying pasting, removing spaces I got it going. Also Tap works too though I use the tunnel int. I am however having another...

    NVRAM Question

maybe I will clear the nvram and re-try your firmware (latest), that is the only fair approach. Thanks a bunch.

    NVRAM Question

ok Merlin so a clean nvram reset should do it? I would totally do it with the latest FW you have but I need my TAP openvpn int to function.

    NVRAM Question

yea, what is happening is that my wifi is just not strong, getting cut in/out, it used to smoke (2.4), just getting disconnects etc, erratic behavior, latency and throughput. But I did flash the router with the latest, then rolled back and re-applied the configs and got the issue.

    NVRAM Question

I'm assuming doing this also will keep the firmware intact? Thanks for all of your help. Will have to jot down all of my settings and start from scratch

    NVRAM Question

I tried Merlin's latest build and had issues with my VPN so I revered back to the _29 beta build which was fine for me. The issue now is my wifi is all screwed up and was fine before. I played with all settings, but figured I should clear the VRAM just to be sure. Can I do the following...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.372.30_2

openvpn Merlin, In terms of more info on openvpn, I can tell you that I couldn't get a far as attempting to try the tap interface. I couldn't save the keys, certs etc. They were there, but the vpn server would not start. I then proceeded to wipe them, saved them (empty) and put them back...

Merlin, you are awesome, I'm not picking on the fact that things don't work and I'm upset. I totally realize what it is like to have a hobby (with responsibilities) and a real job. I'll tell you one thing, I will be donating some funds to you real soon.
