Router Without A Reason: Belkin N150 Wireless Router Reviewed

Tim, It's interesting that the Intel 5300 client performs significantly better (link versus no link) in locations E & F when in 11g mode versus 11n mode. Even if Intel has not implemented MRC or STBC, wouldn't they program the radio to fall back into an 11g mode at distance when actually...

Throughput testing - IxChariot version and script

My concern is that the relatively low maximum throughput numbers you're reporting for 2x2 devices that provide a 300Mbps 802.11n PHY rates. It will be interesting to see what kind of throughput you'll be able to push with a single pair throughput script in your first 3x3 or 4x4 router review.

Throughput testing - IxChariot version and script

Hi Tim, What version of IxChariot are you using? If it's a newer release, have you considered testing with the High Performance Throughput script? Intel uses this script (see below) for their draft 11n testing and Ixia suggests using this script for testing of high BW and high latency...

    Intel 5300 client performance bump

I looked at the WRT610N and the WRT320N in the wireless charts area and although the test unit radios are not identical, it seems reasonable to conclude that in addition to better 2.4GHz performance at location E and F, location D also benefits significantly from the Intel 5300 in both bands.

    Intel 5300 client performance bump

Tim, Could you take a guess at the throughput enhancement an AP/Router gets from testing with the Intel 5300 3x3 client? I understand that before you switched to this standard client you used a different client in each test, however I'm hoping that you did an unpublished comparison before...

Upgrading laptop to Intel WiFi 5300

My experience from a few years ago was that laptop manufactures restrict what internal wireless cards can be installed in a laptop. Apparently the BIOS checks the devices hardware IDs against a list of allowed adapters at boot-up. What laptops have folks installed Intel 5300 on...
