But look at its amazon reviews - 4 start, some a damn good and others lax.

Thats a huge price diff and yes, most US based home owners tend to forget that bunch folks end up being inside "Concrete" Buildings with "Wire mesh RCC" literally being Farday Cages of sort interfere with Wireless.
I've been using a HapLite + HP ProCurve at my parents place after a Tomato ASUS RTN16 had Capacitor issues.

I am looking at cheapest AC routers that I can use as APs for a Multi Level Concrete Condo in DENSE CONCRETE ASIAN CITY so BIG POWERFUL EXPENSIVE Single Routers are going to be pointless.
Main issue is lots of small smart home devices FILLING the AIR :) - as a medium.
Mostly intermittent use...
But they DO NOT fit my scenario as I do not have a SWEET SPOT. I have a Concrete Jungle around me.

I am using a MikroTik HapLite to handle a 25M connect. In future I'd maybe consider getting MkTk AC Gig E (but they dont do Beam forming etc & WiFi focus ?? MU - MIMO?? )
