    Really? All the apartments I've ever seen still have multiple rooms - with walls in between! Are the apartments you're familiar with different and sans walls somehow??

    Something to keep an eye on, sure... But I respectfully submit that your thread title isn't even close to reality. Right now, I'm running a 2 node Ai-Mesh system in my 3/2.5 2 story townhome - primarily because the construction around here is concrete/cinderblock, not very conducive to network...

    This computer actually IS ethernet cable connected to the router - using Powerline Ethernet adapters, but that shouldn't make a difference?

    Trying to upgrade from Merlin 386.4 to 386.5_2. Keep getting this error. Have confirmed that I downloaded the right file - for RT-AC3100. Have tried the upgrade several times, same error every time. First time I've ever seen this.

    LOL, not sure that would make a difference - since the question keeps getting answered over and over and over again - in THIS thread, where its been answered and the information posted that NO additional information should be anticipated until the next release happens, whenever that is!

    As the title says - that's what I'm thinking of doing, using TP-Link 2Gbit Powerline Ethernet devices. Yes, I know I'll get nowhere 2 Gb from them! But seems it should be better than wifi backhaul? I'm only posting/asking because I did a search and can't find ANY threads where anyone has done...

    LOL, gotta love it! "I just got my RT-AC86U from a local retailer today and have successfully flashed Asuswrt-Merlin." A few messages later: "Yes I bought the router from a Chinese online retailer."

    Well, it didn't like 378.56 - tried it twice, and it said it was still on the old firmware after each reboot. So, downloaded 378.55, and that one took, but had to do the full factory reset before it came up and ran. Did a few basic config steps, and then upgraded to 384.9 with no issues...
