    Ac_56u; 1000 mbps down/ 500 mbps up pppoe connection; I had issues with all 380 firmwares, asus or merlin; reported here and on asus support.     ASUS RT-AC56U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.380.3264 Broken?

    With all 380 fw I can't get past 850-900 Mbps, and during the speed test only one core is used. With 378 or older fw it gets past 930 Mbps, both cores used. Using an 1000 Mbps pppoe connection. Not really a big problem but still... Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

    [Bug] CPU loading is 100% in core 1

    I have this issue with any 380 fw. And the download speed is maximum 850 Mbps on a gigabit connection. With latest 378 from asus I don't have this problem (with only one cpu being used) and the speed is normal, around 930 Mbps. Ps : using an ac56u router. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

    Thanks, that worked; I was under the impression that I already tried that, but checked the files and I had 2 378 versions. Maybe it has something to do with the size of the fw ? 376 is < 30 Mb, 378 is bigger than 30.

    I'm unable to get to an older fw; tried both, the restore app and the cfe method. The app works until 93% and then stops, "aborted"... The cfe finishes the upload, reboots the router but I'm still on latest asus 380 fw. I have an ac56u, using win10x64, tried cfe in edge, ie and chrome, same...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.53 is now available

    Disabling the ad-blocker does not bring back the lost performance, not even after a reboot. I had to do a factory reset to get back to what I was used to. Not such a big issue but it is there. I doubt that this is even visible without a gigabit connection to max out the processing power...

It does affect a little the performance ( 880-900 mbps ad blocker enabled, 930+ with it disabled ) but that is somehow to be expected I guess, more processing power required; it's not a big impact and it's worth it.     Need help! RT-AC56U Reboots every 20 seconds...

    Let the power button to on and remove the cable. After that press the reset and put the power cable back in, keep the reset pressed until you get the proper led on. Maybe you already did this, just wanted to be sure that you did it properly by removing the power cable and not using the on/off...
