    Reseting Firewall to Defaults

Is there a way to reset the firewall to defaults from the CLI? I have a clean slate in the web UI for the firewall. Nothing defined. Did have quite a few rules which I deleted but as of right now the firewall looks clean in the web UI. But, when the firewall is enabled I can't connect to...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.3 beta is now available

Current version 386.2_6. Has this release done anything to restore parental time scheduling control over guest connections? The time scheduling feature is broken, again, for guest wifi connections but not normal wifi connections. Even though the network map list shows guest clients as blocked...

    Site-to-Site VPN Tunneling

Thanks for the input, eilgrad. I have persisted on finding a solution to the TUN interface type. However, even the most simplistic scenario of a single Windows 10 VPN client connecting to the VPN server of the router resulted in not being able to navigate to any client except the router...

    Site-to-Site VPN Tunneling

Thanks Colin. I checked the default gateway that's being assigned to devices on the client side and it's the IP of the client side router. That was my first though as well.

Hahahahaha. That was the worst part of it for me as well.

    Site-to-Site VPN Tunneling

Hello all, I have two locations set up with an OpenVPN TAP interface tunnel. Server is an RT-AC5300 running 384.19 Client is an RT-AC3100 running 386.2_4 Tried for HOURS to get routing working as a TUN interface between the two. Just couldn't get it to fly. Switched to TAP and re-IP'ed...

Something has happened to my AC5300 router...

I have to disagree with the downgrading won't help. I downgraded my AC5300 back to 384.19 and all problems went away and I'm back to a very stable router. There is one persistent issue I have which I had prior to my upgrade attempt to 386 and that is the OpenVPN server will not start up fully...

Something has happened to my AC5300 router...

Maybe there are slight differences in the AC5300 depending on the age. Mine is at least 3 years old. Not sure how to query component specs on it such as cpu model and other chip versions to compare against others. If someone knows how to collect that info, I'd be happy to post the info here...

Something has happened to my AC5300 router...

Just to follow up. It's been nearly 6 hours since I rolled back the firmware to 384.19 and the router has been smooth as silk. I couldn't make it 30 minutes under the 386 code without problems. No crash at all and I've got everything set as needed. All 2.4 ghz band clients are solid and...

Something has happened to my AC5300 router...

I have a feeling you're right about holding off on the 386 release, anonimo. I reviewed the full reset advice on the L&LD post but that is a lot of work and disabling and waiting which I don't think in the long run will make any difference. My gut tells me there's something fundamentally amiss...

Something has happened to my AC5300 router...

I just had another crash and reboot of my router as I was trying to make a change to the 2.4 ghz radio. I noticed that most of my 2.4 ghz clients were reporting horrible Tx and Rx rates in the network map (single digits with many being 1), even those in close proximity to the router. I noticed...

Something has happened to my AC5300 router...

Ah, I apologize. Didn't realize that's what you meant. Yes. I did select that option on the first factory reset. But, on the second one I had to use the front reset button since I couldn't get into the system.

Something has happened to my AC5300 router...

I did not reset after loading 386.2 as it was a pretty plain config to begin with. But I can do that if it is likely to help. Not reloading anything. Manually rebuilding my config to make sure there was nothing wacky coming back from a settings import. I did have a USB stick attached but I...

Something has happened to my AC5300 router...

That may be me misremembering that version string. That probably does explain it. And yes, I did see an out-of-sync device icon issue on first load of the web UI after the update and I did a cache clear and that fixed it right up.

Something has happened to my AC5300 router...

Seems to be in a fairly normal range. I have paid attention to the CPU and memory stats and they are in what I would consider low usage ranges. The router is placed in a pretty open and well ventilated area. To me it feels like the internal storage may be developing some corruption but I'm...
