spdMerlin spdMerlin - v4.x - speedtest and bandwidth monitoring

Looking at the logs, it seems like it does take into account the entire pipe for the AutoBW portion. I assume the last line is a typo and means "upload" but otherwise seems accurate. Dec 5 21:12:31 router spdMerlin: Speedtest results - Download: 188.62 Mbps (data used: 268.3 MB) - Upload...

ha ha - figure that since it's at the router, it's the only place where you can see all ingress and egress. Speedtest fills the pipe + the other stuff = real speed.

Yeah, that's exactly what I was curious about. Totally makes sense that it doesn't. It's what I've always wished for with speed tests and an active family.

Does this (or AutoBW) somehow calculate existing connections? Say, for example, I'm downloading some large file and using 100 Mb of bandwidth. Will either of these apps somehow take that into account?

    System Log Entries

Interesting, I never put those two lines together. My kids have securely.com on their school iPads so I get the rebind error and ignore it. The other one seemed to go away when I toggle AiProtect.

    System Log Entries

My log is filled up with the "failed to send packet: Operation not permitted" message too. It's annoying but I have yet to see any problem.

My wireless radios were mysteriously turned off!?

No, I bounce it weekly. I think it was about 4 hours after the weekly bounce.

My wireless radios were mysteriously turned off!?

Ha - yeah. I created this account just to reply because I thought I was going crazy when it happened to me.

My wireless radios were mysteriously turned off!?

I had this exact thing happen about 2 or 3 weeks ago. It was really strange. I was messing with the router, so I thought maybe it got disabled from tightening an antenna or something. I don't think there is any switch to disable the radios on the device (AC88U). Could be some other issue.
