Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

Sorry, for some reason I stopped getting notifications for the thread, but to answer your question - no, it doesn't appear so - cat /jffs/syslog-1 | grep mount or cat /jffs/syslog-1 | grep /mnt/sda doesn't return anything.

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

I will as soon as I get home tonight; I don't have remote access enabled.

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

So I just 'upgrade' to Diversion, and I'm having a really odd issue after my router reboots - essentially, Diversion 'disappears'. There are no errors in the installation log; but when I attempt to run the ui after the router reboots, this is the result: ASUSWRT-Merlin RT-AC66U 380.68-0 Fri...

    RT-AC66 Replacement Suggestions

Greetings, I believe it is time that I retired my trusty RT-AC66 and moved to a newer, shine-er platform. Thanks to all of RMerlin's hard work, and the numerous help provided by those on this forum, I've been able to extensively customize and extend the functionality of this device long past...

    [380.68 RT-AC66] Dnsmasq & CNAME

Nevermind, I'm an idiot. Apparently when you use nslookup directly on the router, it ignores the local= directive in dnsmasq.conf and resolves the record regardless. But not on the clients. My mistake was in configuring cname=multicraft, olympus instead of...

    [380.68 RT-AC66] Dnsmasq & CNAME

I fold. I need some help. I'm trying to configure a CNAME on my router to use with Nginx on my home server, so that, depending on which name is used to access it, Nginx will direct to a different site. I've got this entry in /jffs/configs/dnsmasq.conf.add cname=multicraft, olympus Whereas...

    [RT-AC66R] [380.66] Is it DNS?

I've seen something similar - the MAC address being used for these clients that aren't having their hostnames used. What I don't understand is why - if the client is configured correctly, then dnsmasq should be using the values that the client supplies.

    [RT-AC66R] [380.66] Is it DNS?

So far as I know I'm using dnsmaq - like I said, none of the other clients are having this issue at the moment. DNS Server 1 & 2 on the LAN/DHCP page are empty, and I'm not using Parental Controls at all. Something has occurred to me, however - the client in question is a TurnKey Linux...

    [RT-AC66R] [380.66] Is it DNS?

I've got a situation that has me banging my head against my laptop and so I humbly come before people who are smarter than I am. I'm having an issue where clients are successfully getting DHCP IP addresses from the router, but their host names are not being registered in DNS correctly despite...

    5GHz channels in final builds

I think this may have to do with a regulatory issues - IIRC, not all channels are available in all countries. Of course, I could be completely off my rocker. It happens.

    [RT-AC66R] [380.62] DNS Questions

Thank you for the detailed walk-through. What I eventually did was just change all of my machines behind the router to get a int.example.com - that way local network lookups still resolve correctly, and requests to .example.com outside of the network also resolve correctly. It's been working...

    [RT-AC66R] [380.62] DNS Questions

Why? If I wanted to host a server at home that provided services tied to a domain name that I owned, wouldn't the server in question need to have a FQDN that reflected that domain name?

    [RT-AC66R] [380.62] DNS Questions

I'm having a bit of a conundrum, and I'm wondering if anyone here has encountered the same issue and perhaps has found a solution. When I set up my RT-AC66R, I set the LAN > DHCP Server > RT-AC66R's Domain Name value to that of an actual domain name that I own (example.com), such that every...

[RT-AC66R / 380.62] Static IPs, DHCP Pool, Internal DNS Records

The man himself! I see what you mean - if I leave the clients as DHCP, then they'll be able to connect physically even if the router is replaced or reset. And perhaps this just shows what I don't know where networking is concerned, probably doesn't bode well for my VMs. One last question -...
