Help segregating IOT network from main

Thank you very kindly, that was exactly what the proverbial doctor ordered. I was making it more complicated than it needed to be. Thanks again.

Help segregating IOT network from main

I am almost following, but I am not quite there yet. I only need one VLAN, just a single machine that needs to be isolated. If I connect the WAN port of the old 66U (using default Asus firmware) to a LAN port on my internet facing 86U, anything I connect to the LAN ports of the 66U can still see...

Help segregating IOT network from main

This is a fortuitous thread, I was about to ask something very similar, but probably easier. Rather than start a new thread, I'll play off the good advice already given here. I simply want to restrict a single hard-wired PC to internet only, I do not want this PC to have access to any part of...

    AC66u antenna connector?

I completely forgot that a HackRF can do what I need, so this thread can be ignored.

    AC66u antenna connector?

I want to use a retired AC66u (the old model that is not compatible with newer Merlin builds) for a low power RF experiment. It will not be connected to the internet. Of course, the router has three RP-SMA connectors. This experiment requires one antenna exclusively. So my question: Is there a...

OT - surviving pandemic from personal experience (no trolling, PLEASE)

I hope this isn't too political to post, and I apologize in advance if this has to be deleted, but I just kinda feel like it needs saying. If most countries go to war, there is a draft. You do not have a choice, if you meet the criteria, you have to fight. It doesn't matter if you believe in the...

OT - surviving pandemic from personal experience (no trolling, PLEASE)

It really is. Laughter isn't likely to cure a staph infection or take the place of chemo, but spirit is underrated. I got my first shot yesterday. The medical office had a floor dedicated to distributing the vaccine, and it was packed. The nurses running the show had it down to a science...

OT - surviving pandemic from personal experience (no trolling, PLEASE)

There are people who are highly allergic to peanuts, penicillin and everything else, so it makes sense that they would want to be as careful as reasonably possible, I guess. Especially since it is new, and less statistical data is available. Mine is next week, and I've been thinking that it...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 Beta (stage 2) is now available

Yup, this is the political flaw known as Daylight Savings. I shouldn't complain - I am American, and we still refuse to use metric units...

How to use a Pi as a VPN router?

Thanks mate, that is a helpful article, but it isn't really what I am doing. I already crashed it trying last night, though, so I won't be able to even try again until I can get someone to go over there and reset it for me. :)

How to use a Pi as a VPN router?

There are two distant LANs, Site 1 (192.168.15.0/24) and Site 2 (192.168.75.0/24). Site 1 is running an Asus 66U with stock firmware. It has an OpenVPN server configured on the router. Site 2 is running an Asus AC86U with the latest Merlin beta. It has OpenVPN configured as a client that...

OpenVPN stuck in initialization after 384.4_2 update on RT-AC66U_B1

I just had this issue with a remote office that is running a slightly older firmware, a few revs back (Don't remember which offhand). Hitting Apply as fusionstream suggested seemed to fix it. The router cannot be updated or even rebooted at this moment, but it will be soon.
