    OK, so i just tested from a public wifi and it worked no issue, so it's something to do with my smartphone data IP when not on wifi, strange

    I've just factory reset and did not enable ddns, just using the wan ip but same issue. I've tried other devices and cannot access the gui through open vpn. Does rsa 1024 or 2048 make a difference? I will try wireguard and see if same issue.

    I'm using a ddns.net from noip ddns with let's Encrypt. Doesn't seem to be an issue but how do I check?

    Running RT-AX86U firmware 3004.388.9_2 I used to be able to run openvpn from my smartphone and access 192.168.50.1 from mobile data but tried recently and to no avail. I have Client will use VPN to access to Both. Anyone else have this issue?

    Just went back to test again with my ISP router and sure enough it gave another WAN IP, so my IP must be blocked with the IP being assigned to my asus router, wonder if I can somehow obtain a new IP but maybe it's mapped to the MAC address of the router?

    I had thought that also, but when I tested my ISP provided router, I have a static IP, so the same IP is being on both the Asus and provider router.

    I don't have any scripts running. I used the same laptop on both isp provided router where the website came up, then tested on Asus router and error occurred. Same with my smartphone. I even factory reset the Asus router thinking that may correct it but it did not.

    On the WAN DNS setting it is set to: Get the DNS IP from your ISP automatically. On LAN, DNS and WINS Server Setting DNS Server1 & 2 are blank.
