Sony Pictures Core Website Blocked

Running RT-AX86U firmware 3004.388.9_2

I cannot access https://www.sonypicturescore.com via my asus router, I get the message: Something went wrong, please try again later. I have tried multiple devices on my network but same message. If I use my ISP provider router it works fine and site comes up. I do not have AI Protection on, nor a VPN. Any thoughts?

try using the DNS address given in the ISP router instead of any other in the ASUS DNS server address in the DHCP config of the asus ?

On the WAN DNS setting it is set to: Get the DNS IP from your ISP automatically. On LAN, DNS and WINS Server Setting DNS Server1 & 2 are blank.

@dmr24, Are you running any addon scripts like Diversion? Are you using Pi-Hole or any other DNS sink hole program?
Generally as already mentioned when having such an issue check the WAN and LAN DNS settings, set them to ISP defaults as a troubleshooting step and retest.
Also check any browser addon's (if using a web browser) that block ads/malware, disable them and test.
Depending on what third party security software one is running, one may need to temporarily disable that software as a troubleshooting step.
Finally, test from a different computer or device as a troubleshooting step.

I don't have any scripts running. I used the same laptop on both isp provided router where the website came up, then tested on Asus router and error occurred. Same with my smartphone. I even factory reset the Asus router thinking that may correct it but it did not.

I don't have any problem accessing that site from here (UK). I believe you're in Canada so that might be significant.

The only difference between your ISP router and the Asus that I can think of is the WAN IP address. Perhaps Sony are blocking certain IP address ranges. Compare the public IP addresses of each router.

I had thought that also, but when I tested my ISP provided router, I have a static IP, so the same IP is being on both the Asus and provider router.

Just went back to test again with my ISP router and sure enough it gave another WAN IP, so my IP must be blocked with the IP being assigned to my asus router, wonder if I can somehow obtain a new IP but maybe it's mapped to the MAC address of the router?

It is usully tied to the router's WAN MAC address. Find the WAN MAC address of your ISP router and put it on the Asus router: WAN - Internet Connection > Special Requirement from ISP > MAC Address. Then power off the router, wait a minute, then turn it back on.

That fixed it. I am very grateful for people like you Colin. You have helped so many in this community. Thanks again :)
