    RT-AX88U Pro v.s. RT-AX86U Pro

Our AX88U Pro maxes out around 110 F / 43 C and the CM8200 modem a few degrees under that. Parts of closed will hit 80 F /26 C on hot days.

2.5 GbE Switch for AX88U Pro

What are the best 2.5 GbE Switches for AX88U Pro? Two 2.5Gbps Multi-Gig ports suggest the use of a switch to get beyond the limitation of four 1Gbps ports but I've never seen an Asus switch. There are plenty of switches from other companies but an Asus switch with 2.5 Gpps to swith and four...

    RT-AX88U Pro v.s. RT-AX86U Pro

Our AX88U Pro has been stable and 4 GbE ports are enough for the our home office but we may add 2.5 GbE switch. Most of our devices are on wi-fi and it covers our 1,600 sq ft space. There are benefits to 6E but we're waiting for wi-fi 7 to be fully developed. AXE16000 and or a UDM Pro...

Upgrading to business grade wi fi router with POE ports

What's the next upgrade from a Asus RT-AX88U to a small business grade router with POE jacks. Upgrading a home network to run POE powered devices phones and cameras. Is a upgraded wi fi router with POE jacks the next step, or should I just run a POE switch? Currently running Cox internet with a...

Adding wi-fi and Bluetooth to Dell OptiPlex 5090 small for factor

What options do we have for adding Bluetooth and wi-fi to Dell OptiPlex 5090 SFF being adapted to work from home use. Want to use Bluetooth keyboards and mice, and wi-fi home printers. Looking at adding wireless cards with Bluetooth and wi-fi vs wi-fi dongles. Do wi-fi usb dongles include Bluetooth?

WiFi 6 Asus RT-AX88U and Intel AX201 work well together

Have a new laptop with the AX201 and it's working well with the RT-AX88U WiFi 6. It easily handles our 300/ 30Mbps plan, and I'd expect it to easily run gig speeds. Of course now that we have the new system there's the newer AX210 with 6E but we'd need a much faster connection and a 6E router to...

What's the verdict on the RT-AX88U vs RT-AX86U vs GT-AXE11000 if I'm buying today

AX88U is working well, wi-fi is stable and we're seeing a small speed increase. Hitting 260-280 Mbps on speed tests vs 260-270 I used to see on 300 Mbps connection. Both numbers are well above what we need. Expect to see bigger difference as we add Wi-Fi 6 devices over time. May have picked...

What's the verdict on the RT-AX88U vs RT-AX86U vs GT-AXE11000 if I'm buying today

ZenWifi XT8 looks like a great set up. I set up a Linksys mesh at a friend's house but would recommend Asus or Unifi when they upgrade. I have a smallish house so I can cover it with a single router.

What's the verdict on the RT-AX88U vs RT-AX86U vs GT-AXE11000 if I'm buying today

I'm most interested in the 5ghz performance. 5Ghz is a trade-off with faster speeds but less range and less penetration through walls. Companies like Asus are likely focused on improving 5 GHz and keeping 2.4 GHz for legacy devices. Doubt new routers will see improvements on 2.4 GHz...

What's the verdict on the RT-AX88U vs RT-AX86U vs GT-AXE11000 if I'm buying today

You reference AX86U as best consumer grade router. What's the next step up or what is better than a AX88U/AX86U/AXE1100 Nighthawk AX12?

What's the verdict on the RT-AX88U vs RT-AX86U vs GT-AXE11000 if I'm buying today

Ordered the AX88U and interested to see how it performs. AX86U does have newer design sells for less but was out of stock. Asus store now shows stock but most other retailers are out of stock. Almost all our devices are 5 GHz so 2.4 GHz isn't important. AX86U may be less expensive and have...

What's the verdict on the RT-AX88U vs RT-AX86U vs GT-AXE11000 if I'm buying today

Leaning toward the RT-AX88U over the RT-AX86U and GT-AXE11000. Read through a few threads and it sounds like AX88U may be better at longer ranges, 2.4 GHz on AX88U is a little better, similar performance but AX88U has edge but costs more. AC86U was better than the AC88U but that seems to have...

    ASUS Announces RT-AX86U and RT-AX82U

AC68U to AX86U is an easy choice and a nice upgrade. Expect the AX86U one of the top routers until 6E is mainstream.

    ASUS Announces RT-AX86U and RT-AX82U

Hard to justify spending $280-$300 when wi-fi 6E will be out soon. I do like the AX86U but it doesn't have have a lot of benefits our AC86U with our 300Mbps/ 30Mbps down. We might see a small increase in range or performance but can probably get another year out of the 86U and wi-fi 6E will be...
