I had to move over to Merlin f/w. This caused both my radios to be flaky, web pages wouldn't load properly and apps wouldn't open properly on my phone.

I went back to 386.1 beta 2. No problems at all. It runs great. Both radios working fine. Its snappy when I open a browser. Kids not complaining. I'm thinking of at least moving to beta 5 but I don't want to ruin a good thing. I would go to 384.19 but I love the Aimesh 2.0 interface.

Did you downgrade to 384.19?

I was using the stock firmware for the AC86U and AC3100. I started having flakiness so I upgraded to 386.1. My radios on my AC86U were unstable after upgrading for 24 hrs and clients were sluggish and wouldn't open apps sometimes. I did a dirty install but eventually factory reset it too...

Installed the newest update stock firmware ASUS RT-AC86U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.41634 Uptime 0 days 23 hour(s) 1 minute(s) 39 seconds No problems so far. Heck the Traffic Analyzer even works now.

I did a dirty upgrade early this morning from 386.1 Beta 1 to Beta 2 on the AC86U and from the RC2-9 on the AC3100 to 386.1 Beta 2. Everything has been working smoothly so far.

Thanks. I appreciate your input. I hadn't thought about the "dumbing" down aspect of combining those routers.

I'm thinking about adding an AX86U as the main with the nodes being the AC86U and the AC3100 during the holiday season. Has anyone gotten a 3 router system to work on a completely wireless backhaul?

I've had this problem since switching over to the 386 alphas and betas on the AC2900/AC86U. I didn't have this problem when the AC3100 was the main router.

There's a problem with the 386.1 and the AC3100 and AC5300. Hopefully it will be corrected in the next beta. People are flashing them to the stock firmware beta RC2-9. I'm using 386.1 on my main router AC86U and RC2-9 on my node the AC3100.

I had the same probably with the RT-AC68u as an AiMesh node on wireless backhaul too. I had the RT-AC3100 as my main router. I eventually sold it on Ebay. Never could get it to work without dropping connection 5 to 6 times a day.

I am having the same problem. Getting very low values for a house that uses about 30 to 40 GB everyday. My value right now for total usage is 1.02 GB?! I wish this would get fixed, its the main reason I like Asus routers.

I did a clean install on the AC86U and left the stock Asus RC2-9 on the AC3100 as the node. Working great so far. Traffic Monitor still not working but other than that everything is great. Thanks again Eric.
