RT-AC3200 is breaking my VPN to work - IKE port redirected

That was it. I'm a little bit disappointed in the wording from ASUS. This is what it says on-screen... I think that should say "from" the clients not "to" them. Regardless that fixed the issue, and you sir deserve a cookie!

RT-AC3200 is breaking my VPN to work - IKE port redirected

Maybe not breaking, just severely hampering. I've confirmed via WireShark that my PC is sending requests on destination port 4500 (IKE) and the router is converting them to 443 (HTTPS) which the VPN endpoint at work sees and thinks I'm a guest or visitor mode connection...which sucks! I know...

Connecting a Win10 client to corporate VPN through AC3200

SHows a public address from ISP, it is directly connected via ethernet to Cable modem. I appreciate the help everyone, I think what I've heard here is enough to rule out my router, at least for firewall. I tried disabling all the Ai and QOS and monitoring stuff too. I just don't think it is me...

Connecting a Win10 client to corporate VPN through AC3200

Makes perfect sense, but the remote host is not forcing TLS, with the work-from-home thing we have 900-1,000 people on during business hours, of that total only 5-10 people are getting forced into what Check Point calls guest mode (443/TLS), and the FW support folks think I am blocking outbound...

Connecting a Win10 client to corporate VPN through AC3200

Background: A company-owned Win10 laptop with the "Check Point" VPN thick-client RT-AC3200 connected to cable-modem with 3.0.0.4.382_51940-ga3b9d4a firmware No outbound firewall rules (yeah I know) Problem: I am able to connect to corporate with no issues, but the performance is poor...

AC66U dropped LAN connections due to domain?

Had an error last night, EXTREME lag in a game came out of nowhere, LAN connection (copper) was dropped for a minute or so. Only thing I found (host/domain names changed) in the logs was: The only topic I found here is old and talks about other routers, here. Sounds like my local domain...

    RT-AC66U Admin Website not accessible

I've had that problem, usually (seems) to come up when I try two different machines within an hour or so. Have not seen it lately by only using the console from a single PC. In every case the problem goes away on it's own (over time) just like it started on it's own.

want to upgrade internal WiFi card on my laptop

My laptop is a gemer-class machine, an MSI GE70-20E and it can (supposedly) use any mini PCIe NIC. I currently have an "N" adapter in there, the slow speed of that had me using GB Ethernet for large file transfers or USB for very large file transfers. Was not a real problem for me since my WiFi...

    noob question about AC66U

Probably applies to all the ASUS AC series but... I have always used local (LAN) IP or DNS registration to access my routers. Usually forced into SSL so as an example https://1.2.3.4 or https://edrouter.local, but this AC66U does not like that at all. When it first booted or after a...

    RT-AC66U Port forwarding broken

Your settings look correct to me. Have you tried looking in the logs to see if the AC is actively blocking it or not?

    Basic Asus ACxxU firewall questions

Thanks for the replies and sanity check. It appeared this might be possible with the whitelist feature, but I haven't tried messing with that yet.

    Plz recommend an 802.11 scanner

There's like a zillion free software tools to monitor signal strength and channel utilization/saturation. I'd like to hear recommendations for the best one to use on a Windows (8.1) laptop with an internal 802.11ac card.

    Basic Asus ACxxU firewall questions

I'm new to these forums, if bringing up an old thread is frowned upon over starting a new one then please say so nicely :D I have a brand new AC66U and am having some VERY basic questions as well. Like the OP I am pretty well versed in enterprise firewalls from Sonic/CheckPoint/Cisco, however...
