    Unregistering DDNS host name

I think the settings are written to NVRAM and they seem to survive everything. I had problems with DDNS, and was able to sort them through the terminal, nvram show | grep "ddns" showed me what was being retained by the router which I was then able to edit.

AC86U - Merlin 386.1 USB port disabled by hub - re-enabling not accepting address

I use both USB ports, in 2.0 I have an Android phone in use as my WAN. In 3.0 I have a USB stick with Entware and Wireguard. I run Wireguard over USB Android phone WAN. I have ironed out a few instabilities over time, and now have a fairly stable set up where my whole network goes out over...

spdMerlin spdMerlin - v4.x - speedtest and bandwidth monitoring

I don't think I have the skills to "change the interface used". The GUI does not offer me wg0, so I think I would have to set up Wireguard to operate as tun0, am not even sure if that would be possible. So I think it is must be correct to say that "there is an unexpected interface wg0" The...

spdMerlin spdMerlin - v4.x - speedtest and bandwidth monitoring

Thanks for helping Jack, it seems that the problem is my wg0 Wireguard interface which I should have checked before asking for help. I set this up following the instructions here https://www.snbforums.com/threads/experimental-wireguard-for-rt-ac86u-gt-ac2900-rt-ax88u-rt-ax86u.46164/ When I...

spdMerlin spdMerlin - v4.x - speedtest and bandwidth monitoring

Not sure how to do this, I can't find anywhere where I can enter "USB0". Also not sure if it is relevant, apologies for not mentioning if it is, I am running a Wireguard client on interface wg0.

spdMerlin spdMerlin - v4.x - speedtest and bandwidth monitoring

Thanks for the suggestion, I have done this including removing configurations etc., but still no joy. I get the same messages. Maybe it just won't work on a USB WAN?

spdMerlin spdMerlin - v4.x - speedtest and bandwidth monitoring

AC86U with merlin 384.19. My WAN is on USB Android phone. Dual WAN is off. SpdMerlin installs fine, but when I select WAN the web interface tells me "None configured". I get these errors on the CLI:- Choose an interface to speedtest: 1. All 2. WAN Choose an option: 2 What mode...

AC68U - Unable to do WAN USB Tethering with Android phone on AT&T

I live in a remote location where there is 4G but no other internet. I’ve got "Android Phone" working as my Primary (and only WAN) on AC86U and had it working well on AC68U before I upgraded. I've used it exclusively for about 6 months and it is pretty stable - much more than I expected. The...

AC68U - Unable to do WAN USB Tethering with Android phone on AT&T

Sorry for any confusion I caused by posting what turns out to be an outdated and non-working link. :(

AC68U - Unable to do WAN USB Tethering with Android phone on AT&T

This is not the problem as I use a (different brand of) Android phone with no other service on Ethernet WAN. On the ASUS web site there is a list of compatible Android phones, check this out for your model. Search for mobile tethering support...

    Primary usb-wan DNS

Thanks a lot for this explanation. I had no idea the /etc file system was volatile! - a pretty fundamental piece of knowledge. This now makes much more sense. Now to read up more on the dnsmasq process.

    Primary usb-wan DNS

The servers I set appear at the bottom of my dnsmasq.conf as you suggest. The command now works! Just to help me understand, what's the difference between the contents of etc/dnsmasq.conf and the values in nvram - don't they conflict at all? Now I've reset, the nvram is still showing the...

    Primary usb-wan DNS

I'm on at AC86U, merlin 384.19. I have my WAN set to USB using an Android phone, Dual WAN is disabled. This works well and I have stable internet and can tunnel. But there is no ability in GUI to change DNS which is therefore controlled by my ISP. In order to set this, I have followed the...
