    Good travel router?

I also am interested in a travel router. Would prefer to hook up to ethernet in the hotel, but I also would like to have a router that can connect to the hotel's WiFi and redistribute the WiFi with my own SSID/password. Ideally, the router should support a VPN connection so it would encrypt...

Replacement for the Cisco WAP321 Wireless Units

I had WAP371's and the clustering worked pretty well. I sold them on eBay and went with the Ubiquiti UniFi AP-Pro's. I've since sold those on eBay and got a great deal on beta units of the AP-HD's.

When to Use 802.11w (PMF) & UAPSD

I'm trying to figure out when would it be good to use 802.11w Protected Management Frames. How much of a hit will it cause on performance? Also, is enabling Unscheduled Automatic Power Save Delivery (UAPSD) a good idea? I've heard that some iOS devices have trouble with it.

    Technicolor TC4400

Anyone know if Technicolor plans to sell its TC4400 modem to end users?

Port 53 Open According to Shodan

When I used several port scanners, it didn't show anything open. Maybe Shodan is outdated with someone who had the IP before me?

Port 53 Open According to Shodan

I searched for my IP address on Shodan and was surprised to see that I had an open port (53). Is this enabled by default for most routers? I don't have a port forward set up for it. Not sure if my router automatically opens it (UniFi Security Gateway-Pro).

    Connect USB Device Over Ethernet/LAN

I need an adapter to use Ethernet. That's what I was curious who made them. I don't think a printserver would work with a scale. I could be wrong though.

    Connect USB Device Over Ethernet/LAN

I have a Dymo postage scale that connects via USB. I would like to place this next to my printer. I have a printer and 2 Dymo LabelWriters connected to a switch (the LabelWriters are connected via Dymo print servers). The switch connects to my office switch. I would like to place the scale...

Ubiquiti Adds Three Managed Switches To Its UniFi Platform

The ability to power the US-8 via a PoE input is invaluable. All of my switches are powered by PoE off my master switch (US-48-500). All are connected to the same battery backup (APC SMX1500 with 3 additional batteries).

Ubiquiti Adds Three Managed Switches To Its UniFi Platform

I've been running several US-8's and 1 US-8-60. No problems with them so far (I've been beta testing them). They've been running for about 2 months now. Was nice to ditch all my Linksys switches for central management in the UniFi controller. @JeffLand Yes, they are ditching passive PoE...

    Ubiquiti Unifi USG-PRO-4

You can run the controller on any Mac, PC, or Linux machine. You don't need to purchase a CloudKey. I have 4 AC-Pro's, USG-Pro4, and a 48-port PoE 500-watt switch (main network, powers AP's) and a 24-port PoE switch (powers my cameras).

    DOCSIS 3.1 Retail Modems

Another month has gone by and still no retail availability... Emails to Arris and Technicolor have gone unanswered. sigh

Why Your Network Cable is Slowing You Down

I'm now curious about trying a Belden CAT6 cable to see if it makes a difference. Does anyone have a supplier they would recommend for a precut/terminated CAT6 patch cable from Belden? I'm looking for 15-20 feet.

    Ubiquiti Network

My only recommendations are to get the AC Pro access points and to spend $99 to get a CloudKey. It runs the controller and will allow you to access your network settings/stats from anywhere.
