BE98 insists on putting my 2.4ghz onto unusual channels

I think I will just manually set it to channel 6 (which has the lowest signal strength between the other nearby networks) and see what happens, the other networks may just move out of my way then :D Thanks all

BE98 insists on putting my 2.4ghz onto unusual channels

Ok but the other routers are all ISP supplied routers for other nearby residents and I've seen them move around, but still almost always 1/6/11. I have on the rare occasion seen one on a different channel than those, but it never stayed there for long and doesn't happen much. So they are set to...

BE98 insists on putting my 2.4ghz onto unusual channels

Right, but what has mesh systems got to do with anything here? What are you talking about? CB radios are not encrypted so everyone would hear what everyone else was saying....wifi is encrypted. And the picture i attached in op clearly shows a fully utilized 2.4ghz band that has no completely...

BE98 insists on putting my 2.4ghz onto unusual channels

You contradicted yourself. They should be stacked.....but shouldn't be on the same channel. Which is it? And why would a hugely expensive brand new WiFi 7 Asus router insist on NOT stacking it if it needs to be stacked? Surely when it does it's auto scan it can see 13 other networks all on 1...

BE98 insists on putting my 2.4ghz onto unusual channels

Been playing around with my wifi settings to optimise it and noticed that when on auto, my BE98 insists on setting the 2.4ghz band to channels that are different to the multiple other networks around here. Every single other router in range (13 at last count) uses either 1, 6 or 11 so they all...

    BE98 MLO and roaming issues

Hmm what is TDCS? I tried googling it but just got a load of results about wireless headsets! Played around a bit more and discovered on 5ghz-2 it starts at 160mhz but atfer an hour or 2 ends up getting bumped off it after detecting radar according to the log (assuming it's some sort of...

    BE98 MLO and roaming issues

Hmmm ok. I have been watching the PHY ul/dl speeds when checking WiFi man as well (although I don't know if they are accurate or meaningful). If i was to have 2.4 and 6 on the same ssid then it's going to use smart connect again 🤔. I have no devices that need 2.4 so was considering just turning...

    BE98 MLO and roaming issues

Currently running original 3.0.0.6.102_37902 firmware as merlin does not support the BE98 and gnuton has not done merlins latest 105.5 for it yet but will probably put gnuton on it when the latest version is out, or may do it anyway if it might solve some of these issues. Running all bands on a...

    RT-BE96u UK availability? Other options?

I thought I would be able to select the country in the firmware so it would use the regulated frequencies? I should just cancel it and figure out an alternative then. I could get the BE98 (non-pro) and I believe gnuton now supports that one (although it looks like it may be a bit behind merlin...

    RT-BE96u UK availability? Other options?

Slightly confused about Asus model availability at the moment. I want the BE96u as merlin supports it and it's basically a BE98 without the additional second 6ghz band I don't need. In the UK it seems the BE96u does not exist. We do however have the GT-BE19000 which is apparently (from a...

    x3mRouting x3mRouting ~ Selective Routing for Asuswrt-Merlin Firmware (1-Nov-2020)

Ooh not sure how that happened. So 0x8000 is to WAN 0x1000 is to vpn client 1 I have them pointing at the right thing now but the dnsmasq rules still didn't seem to be getting used at all. But I just spotted your reply to obenz about the vpn dns configuration, mine was set to exclusive which...

    x3mRouting x3mRouting ~ Selective Routing for Asuswrt-Merlin Firmware (1-Nov-2020)

I don't think it's that, I noticed that for hours it wasn't working after making any changes, I went to bed, wake up this morning and without changing a single thing I now get this, and bbc is once again working when last night it wouldn't work at all on any device and liststats showed zero for...

    x3mRouting x3mRouting ~ Selective Routing for Asuswrt-Merlin Firmware (1-Nov-2020)

I have removed all the rules on mine, uninstalled option 3 and 4, reinstalled option 3 and 4 and just re-added the bbc one using dnsmasq method but its refusing to work. I noticed your line had ",co.uk" and ",net.uk" in it, should they have bbc infront of them? I used this (I am using vpn...

    x3mRouting x3mRouting ~ Selective Routing for Asuswrt-Merlin Firmware (1-Nov-2020)

I tried removing netflix and adding it back using the dnsmasq method above but now I find that Netflix is no longer working and binance is still bypassing the vpn. I am probably doing something wrong somewhere. Liststats now shows this (I have removed amazon_us now as I don't think I need it)...

    x3mRouting x3mRouting ~ Selective Routing for Asuswrt-Merlin Firmware (1-Nov-2020)

Just discovered an issue where somehow Binance.com is getting my real ip instead of the vpn ip. I think this must be related to my xemrouting setup because checking the login history, all logins I have done to binance since using xemrouting have revealed my real ip. Below are the commands I...
